What is Ultravist®?

Ultravist® is an Iodine based non-ionic monomeric low osmolar extracellular X-ray contrast medium (LOCM). It can be used for X-ray techniques requiring contrast enhancement such as conventional radiography, angiography, and computed tomography (see Product Information). For exact indications please refer to your local label. For Ultravist® presentations available in your country please refer to your local Bayer representative.

 

Indications
Depending on the country, Ultravist® is approved to be used in many indications such as:

  • CT of the head, chest, heart, abdomen and liver
  • Multi-Detector CT for stroke/ischemic damage and imaging of the abdominal viscera
  • CT angiography of vessels in the head, heart and peripheral parts of the body
  • Conventional radiology for duct systems/body cavities and urography
  • Contrast enhancement of body cavities, e.g. arthrography
  • Pediatric imaging including very young children
  • Urography

Product Specs

Composition:

Ultravist® 150, 240, 300, 370: 1 mL contains 0.312 g / 0.499 g / 0.623 g/ 0.769 g iopromide (equivalent to 150 mg / 240 mg / 300 mg / 370 mg iodine).

Each ml contains 0.000534 mmol (equivalent to 0.0123 mg) of sodium.

Indications:

This medicinal product is for diagnostic use only.

Ultravist® 240/300/370: For intravascular use and use in body cavities. Contrast enhancement in computerised tomography (CT), arteriography and venography, intravenous/intraarterial digital subtraction angiography (DSA); intravenous urography, use for ERCP, arthrography and examination of other body cavities.

Ultravist® 150: For intraarterial digital subtraction angiography (DSA), checking the patency of a dialysis shunt.

Ultravist® 240: Also for intrathecal use.

Ultravist® 370: Especially for angiocardiography.

Ultravist® 150/300/370: Not for intrathecal use.

Contraindications:

There are no absolute contraindications to the use of Ultravist®.
